Membership
All San Diego SeekingSitters families must fill out an online application and be approved prior to requesting a sitter.  Once approved the family can log into their online account and start requesting sitters.  If away from the computer, the local office can be contacted to make a request.  Each request is sent directly to a local SeekingSitters representative who immediately starts working to fill the need.  Once a prescreened Certified Sitter is matched and assigned, the family receives an email notification specifying the details of the event as well as the assigned sitter.  The family can log back into their account and view the sitter's photo as well as read her profile and read feedback posted about the sitter from other families that have utilized her service. 

 
Payment
Payment of the babysitting services are made by credit card and the sitter will show up at your home with a job card to denote the start and end times of the event.  Once the charges are processed a detailed invoice is forwarded to the family and the family can also look up charges from their online account and have them handy for year-end reporting.
 
Last Minute Request
Although only requests made over 7 days in advance are guaranteed to be filled, SeekingSitters accepts requests regardless of the advance notice and will make every effort to fill each request.  Over 40% of all requests are made less than 72 hours in advance and you can track the status of any request online from your personal account.


SeekingSitters refers only Professional Sitters that represent the over all SeekingSitters babysitting S.T.Y.L.E.

E.....Exits are important with activity sheets left for parents review and the house is picked up from the day's activities.


An In-Depth background check is performed on each SeekingSitters referred babysitter. These background checks are performed through SeekingSitters in-house investigation company, Hide and Seek. Hide and Seek was founded in 1978 and from 30 years of investigative experience, they know that pertinent personal character information can be overlooked unless an in-depth background investigation is performed on an individual; therefore, an intense hands-on background check is performed on every sitter. SeekingSitters screening process is a very important part of our service.  SeekingSitters local office performs an in-person interview in addition to undergoing the X-check Background Screening.  All San Diego sitters have been screened to meet the following sitter qualifications:
 
1) Minimum sitter age is 18 years.  (The average age is 23.)
2) They must have their own reliable transportation.
3) Must have extensive prior childcare experience.  This experience must consist of experience with all ages of children in a multitude of different babysitting situations.
4) They must have and keep up to date their CPR & First Aid Training certifications.  SeekingSitters monitors this on an ongoing basis to assure that the sitters are maintaining current certifications.
5) Each San Diego sitter must have positive references.  SeekingSitters is very diligent about verifying references and experience.
